press brakes cd player turns off
i have been having all sorts of electrical problems.
first my battery is being drained some how.
second the key in my ignition wont go all the way in and it stays in accessory mode.
and now everytime i press the brake the cd player turns off and then turns back on.
i did an AT to MT tranny swap on it around 2 months ago.
and the other day i was usuing a lift and i started to get all the loose wires and wrap them up in electrical tape and then duck tape and tape them to the underbody of the car so they dont fall off during my scca races.
and after i did that the whole problem with my brakes started happening.
i anybody know wtf i should do.
any answers to my 3 problems would be great, thanks.

A while back, if I had my radio up with the subs kicking, it would just turn off once I hit the brakes and the idle dropped below ~1200. So I took the radio's 12+ wire(always constant 12V) and unplugged it from the wiring harness, then ran a 14-gauge wire from the battery to it. So now that's a load off the stock harness's thin wiring and the radio gets more power. It fixed my problem... and hopefully it helps yours

It sounds like you are dropping on voltage (as in your alternator is not working correctly), and I suspect that the voltage is under 11 volts (and even possibly 9 volts) when this happens. This (of course) would also explain your dead battery (as the battery would not be charged unless you had above 13.5 volts when the car was running).
It is also possible that you have a bad lock cyl, but that is probably unrelated to any issue other than the battery getting drained (as the acc circuit would draw down the power if left on).
It is very very very very very very doubtful that it is a a wire getting pulled unless you re-routed factory radio wires, or a short (which blows fuses), so pay no attention to those replies.

Just a thought, but I'd say there is a short somewhere in your wiring and your brake light wires, say your stereo is using wire A as a ground, but when you press the brake the wire has power to it now from some random wire B, so instead of being a ground, it is now a live wire and the stereo cuts out.
I agree with everyone saying to check it with a multimeter.
A possible a fix would be finding another source to ground to (the cigarette lighter, or the cigarette lighter next to it could be used) and see if that helps, IF you don't have access to a multimeter.
Good luck!
