Premix Questions ...
I couldn't locate this info through search! (surprisingly)
I don't like that OMP at all.. I always have this fear it's not working right. Well I broke one of the oil injector lines when I was putting the engine back together... Yea... So I sorta of decided to run premix. I just want to get some facts here about premix..
Like. How much oil per gallon of fuel should I use? I read somewhere 1 ounce of oil per gallon ? I think that's what I read.. Could someone please confirm this for me or suggest a diff amount?
What oil type is suggested? Same type I put in my engine?
Will the oil mix into the fuel pretty good? or just float to bottom and add up ? is it ok for the fuel injectors?
Any other important info or any information PERIOD would be appreciated! Thank you kindly!

1 oz per gallon is good. That makes 128:1. The stock OMP ranges from 150:1-100:1, depending on load/rpm. Any TC-W3 oil will be good. I use Valvoline, as do most of the people I have talked to that premix.
Oil is very soluble in gas. The oil will be completely dissolver by the time you pull out of the gas station. Nothing to worry about.
A word of warning though. You fuel filter will need to be replaced much more often, and injectors will need to be cleaned more often. I usually run a bottle of injector cleaner through every 5-6 months, and change the fuel filter every 9-12 months.
Premix raises the compession a little, due to better sealing, which helps performance and gas mileage. It also adds to the longevity of the engine.

People have reccomended the following brands of premix to me:
Yamahlube
Redline
Royal Purple
Your not using alot of premix so you might as well spend the cash on the good stuff.

I've heard people going anywhere from 80:1 up to 150:1 or so on their 12A race cars. But the guy I talked to said that he tore down a race car engine that was running 80:1 premix and he said it had lots of oil residue on it, so that's probably a bit too small a ratio of gas:oil

I think you would run into excessive residue problem if you ran 1oz/gallon along with the omp still operating. If you used premix as additional insurance only then 1/2 oz/gallon should be fine.

ahh yes.. Well another question I forgot about :
I still have my stock OMP on.. But I took the metal bar off... Is it still injecting oil ? or is that OFF ? And how should I go about removing the OMP ? blockoffplate? and should I just leave the oil injectors in the housings and intake? or some type of plug ?
Thanks for all your info All!

K pretend I want to remove the OMP completely.. Tell me if this is correct:
Remove omp and replace with blockoff plate, Remove oil lines, Remove spider vacuum hose and replace with vacuum plug. Leave injectors in housings? or what do I do about the injectors?
Thank you.
