Premiere: One owner Canadian '86 GXL.......!

Introducing a Ecyrb & eriksseven collaboration project:

Project N/a
- Random craiglist find
- Totally un-molested...bone stock
- 170k
- MAD baller status full red leather with matching rear seats
- 100+ psi on both rotors

Got around to snapping some before pics to actually capture a true timeline of this cars progress; something that we always seem to neglect some how or another.

After a quick wash and badge update heres where we are at:

It's first couple mods went down as well:
- 5th and 6th ports wired open ( temp fix until we get new actuators)
- Throttle body mod
- Block off plates installed:
-EGR
-BAC
-ACV
-Sub zero start assist
- Replaced faulty drive shaft
- and off course fresh plugs

After it passes through emissions we will loose the air pump gut the cats and have some real N/a goodness.

Stay tuned

Haha! I almosted pointed this out to Ecyrb last night at 2 am when we were talking the pictures, but I didn't want to ruin the moment for him.

The interior of the car is in exceptional shape. Even the seats have minimal wear.

Tack one up for good old Les Schwab for that one.

We are yet to crack one of the lug nuts

But hey we got some super fresh tires out of the deal

Whoa... Where was I? I didn't even know the car was gone! I'm trying to think of where I parked it last night before it was "jacked". Either way, it looks so damn good in all it's series 4 glory.

Just an FYI, we picked this car up for $1200 in it's basically immaculate condition... The exterior is literally perfect except for two small dings. Two dings in 20 years is pretty amazing... This car was basically garaged and babied it's entire life.

When we picked it up, it was basically in need of a good tune-up and a new driveshaft. The driveshaft is probably why we were able to get it so cheap... The owner had no idea why the car was vibrating and just parked it, unable to decide whether to fix it or just sell it now for cheap and cut the losses... Luckily we were there with cash to make the decision easy.

As far as a "project car" goes, I think we made out pretty well, lol.

Erik, I thought the car might wake you up when we started it because the exaust leak at the manifold, but we slipped into the night undetected.

Yo B,

Just so you know, that bastard accepted my $600 parts offer and than without warning started selling everything that he had just agreed to sell us... So yeah, no go on the seats, carpeting, suspension etc.

Regardless, the headers and midpipe will be installed this weekend. We need to arrange a little "dual-cam" race if you know what I'm saying. The single-cam VTEC couldn't touch the power of the 5th and 6th ports!

And yes, we did have an amazingly awesome race between ecyrb's D/D Honda hatch and (our) GXL. The N/A pulled like a champ, lol! It was the most satisfyingly slow race EVAR! 10mph-110mph--N/A by three cars-lengths?

I raced a bone stock 96' Miata in my bone stock GXL to see who could go from 50 to 110th without leaving 5th.

I had enough time to finish off my cigarette and close the window before I hit 100. (I won )

You're getting the same kind of deal i'm getting, I'm getting an 87 though, red, grey interior, 161k with 61k on the motor, 1 small ding one small rust spot and a key mark. Mint interior besides a small crack in the drivers seat. I will be the 3rd owner, it even has the oem RX-7 floor mats. I'm paying $1500 for mine though.

What a friggen nub.... I was looking forward to that purchase
What does he have left...anything desirable?

Regaurdless lets cut our losses and rediredict the unnessisary cosmetic fund towards a easily obtainable SAFC

Ahh that will ease the pain of the parts loss!
I can't wait to hear what the thing is going to sound like and feel like behind the wheel

Probably more like four.....haha...... I can't stand the honda, after not driving it for awhile it is borderline unbearable to start driving again.....its so time to move on.
Back to some more german roots.

I love it... the seven can't loose
