Some 02 sensors are advertised to the effect that you will get more performance. Bosch in particular. I fail to see how this could happen. Your ECU doesn't use the O2 sensor when you stomp on the gas. I suppose if an O2 sensor was more accurate, an arguement might be made for higher performance @ cruising speeds, when you apply very modest throttle. I imagine this could only be viewed with test equipment. (oscilloscope, etc) I'm no expert, but it seems pretty cut and dry.

An S-AFC is a piggyback fuel computer. It will let you program your fuel curve. make sure you know what you're doing , you can pop your engine very easily. And Ive never heard of a "performance" O2 sensor. Only widebands, which are used as a tuning tool.

Maybe a higher quaility one will give you better gasmilage. But no oxygen sensor will give you HP.

Just spend the 20 bones for the single wire deal.

Some interesting sites for expanding your oxygen sensor knowledge.

I've heard a couple people claim they get very accurate results from 4-wire "performance" sensors, but those guys both had standalone ECUs and a way to datalog. Some are sold as a unit, gauge/sensor and claim extremely accurate results but I really don't believe it.

When I eventually get a WB I hope Tech Edge has their new version avail. that will accept the bosch sensor. T.E. sounds like the best bang for the buck. Just hope I can find a sensor when I go looking. I've heard recently about an intentional supply shortage for the L1H1, but haven't inquired about the bosch.

Don't trust your engine with anything less than 5 wires is the way I see it.
