power window switch
power window switch
ok here is whats happening. my windows are very slow when i press the button to lower them. passenger is slowest by far. but when i put power directly to the window it goes down like new. i cleaned the contacts on the passenger side and it still goes slow there seem to be no way to clean contacts on drivers side.....so is there a common place to look for a week connection in the wiring?
Its the master switch that does total control. I replace my pass. window switch with a new one and it still did it(pass. Slow). I was told its the master switch that needs the work. I will get to it someday on cleaning or replacing the master.
for the longer time I couldnt figure out why my pass side switch wasnt working.. had it aparrt twice and resoldered and checked everything... till I realized that they run in sequence.. so I redid the driver switch and good as new

You can take the switch apart and clean the burned contacts. Use some extra fine sandpaper, maybe 400-600 grit. This is a temporary fix, as the protective plating is now removed. The contacts will arc and burn much more rapidly the next time.
Best permanent fix is to clean the contacts as above then add a relay for each window motor. That way the switch only carries the current needed to run the relay. The relay current is very very low (milliamps) compared to the current pulled by the window motors.

Badfun - you're missing the contact for the 'master on/off' switch that supplies the passenger side switch. If you don't get what I mean, look at this:
