power window stuck

power window stuck

my passenger power window is stuck in the down position and i cant get it back up, the passenger swtich is broken, getting a new one shipped, but i cant get it back up with the drivers switch, does the thing have to be a complete circuit to work?

oh yeah, forgot to add something:

I believe it does need to be a complete circuit to open/close the windows. I took out my motor, and i could only get it to run if both switches were hooked up

yes it is. take out the switch. take it apart and clean the contacts with sandpaper or scrape that stuff off with an exacto knife. and it should work. I've fixed several switches that way. and they've all lasted.

that wont fix the passenger switch, all thats left of it is the plastic switch, it moves up and down, thats it, no metal, just plastic, ok, now to get the replace ment before monsoon season kicks in

jump the motor from the battery and just leave it up till the switch comes in its on;y two wires put it one way the window goes down, put it the other and it will go back up (unless the motor is bad)
