Unhappy Power Window Problem

Both windows were rolling up and down perfectly fine, one minute I rolled them up to answer a phone call and next minute I couldn't roll the passenger side down at all. The driver's side works perfectly fine. I thought that maybe my switch shorted out so I got two good switches (both driver and passenger) and nothing. I tried jumping the motor directly to see if it still works and when jumped it rolls up and down just fine. I even replaced the driver's side with one of the new switches and still nothing.

When trying to roll down the passenger side from either switch no sound can be heard from the motor. Does the motor ground to the body? I'm having no luck any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you bother checking the power window fuse? Also, if one switch is bad, the other one stops working. You need two working switches in the circuit. Meaning the drivers side could be bad, but the passenger side fine, and neither of them will function. But check the fuse first.

First thing to do is to check for voltage on the Black/Blue wire at the passenger switch w/key to on and the switch at the driver side positioned where the power on is toggled to allow the passenger switch to work. If the B/L wire doesn't have voltage when it should then one explanation would be that the harness is disconnected. If the B/L wire does not have voltage at the passenger switch then check for voltage on the same wire at the driver switch. If it has power there then this proves the harness is disconnected at connector FDR-03.

I didn't check the fuse since the driver's side was still operational. I don't have voltage at the B/L wire on the drivers side I think I might have a problem with my wiring. I'll have to check. Thanks for the info

If you don't have voltage on the B/L wire at the driver switch then either the power off switch at the driver switch is not set to the right position or it is damaged or the fuse has recently blown since checking to see that the driver window works or connector FDR-02 is not making proper contact with the two plugs involved or the driver switch plug is not mated to the switch properly as in slightly unplugged or a wire is pulled back in the plug. The B/L wire should have voltage w/key to on when plugged into the driver switch and the "power off" switch is positioned to "on."

i have a question: my drivers side window switch burnt out on me a while ago. the drivers side still goes down the the controlls for the passangers windows dont work....and i cant controll the passanger windows from the passanger side switch either....dose anyone know what wires i need to cut/connect to allow me to controll the passanger window from the passanger switch eg. (drivers side switch controlls drivers window ONLY, and passangers side switch controlls passangers window)..??????

if anyone knows this would help heaps, at least i would be able to get both windows down even if it means i have to lean over and put the passanger window down using the other switch..
