Power Window Issue!!!
Hey guys- my windows have a hard time going up! It was fine but then all of a sudden, it kinda goes up but very very slow!
goin down, no issue
Like they raise up on an angle to about a certain point till there about more then half way up, they raise up with no problem
but like if i push the window to its normal level position, it goes up fine! like if i hold it at that position, whats the deal?
Any ideas?

Same thing with mine, oddly same year and type lol.
Temporary fix was wd-40 down the sides and then once the wd-40 was clean and dry I put some silicone spray in there and put the window up and down a few times.
To fix it I took the whole thing out cleaned up the track and used some silicone spray on the rubbre sides. Worked great till winter hit now its doing it again but I figure thats just because I haven't cleaner the car in a while.

They could be catching because of dirt in the tracks. As Suiicidalpenguin said, clean and grease them well. That should help quite a bit. It's also possible that the motor is getting tired.

I would suggest pulling the door panel off and actually inspecting the the linkages. I had this happen on my vert, did what was suggested above, and then a few weeks later the window seized about 1" from being closed. I lived in an apartment at the time, which meant when it rained, my car got wet. When i pulled the panel off I saw that the whole linkage had popped off the pulley at the top, and the cable had gotten mangled.

Mine does the same thing, on an 87 t2. Most of the time it goes up and down at a decent pace, sometimes it just decides to be a deusch going down or decides to be a bitch going up, I swear it has a mind of its own. Sometimes when it goes down it jolts, what I mean by that is go down at a pace then drop then back to pace then drop then back to pace ... I'll probly try this method some time.

I've replaced one that was going bad on my father's vert. It was doing what you were saying with it not wanting to go up unless it had help. Eventually the plastic runner that the cable runs thru broke at the top and it stopped working all together.
His has started doing the same thing on the opposite door and I did as everyone else said. Pop the door panel, clean the rails up, grease them and you should be good to go.
On my vert it started doing the same thing and I cleaned them up and regreased the rails and I was good.
I imagine that if you continue to try and make the motor run when it's getting physical resistance you strain the motor and the plastic runners that the cables run thru. Both of which will eventually end up with something giving out.
