power steering removal questions

yeah lets face it, the power steering on our cars is easily exhausted when you realy need it on the road for quick turning. it's realy on good for convinience while dry steering in a parkinglot.

that said, i want to disable my power steering for the obvious benefits of freeing up a few ponies and more linear (if maybe heavier) steering.

i've been thinking about just taking the pump belt off.
is this a good idea or do i need to go further to achieve my ends?

i've also been thinking that the soon to unused PS steering cooler could be riged into a trany cooler.

any thoughts or ideas are welcome

thanks!

you can take that route but IMO you are better off taking off the pump and lines. I have this done to my canr and I can't really remember what it is to drive with PS unless I get into a car with PS. The PS cooler is just a loop of hard line so I don't know how well that would do for a tranny cooler. I tried driving my car without the PS belt to see if I could drive it ok. I could so I did the whole mod. Look for markus219's thread he outlined the proccess very nicely and that thread also has the bolt sizes you will ned to block off the holes left.
