Power Steering and Idle

Yesterday my p/s belt jumped the pulleys and thrashed around a bit before I managed to shut down - it's the right belt, but all the adjustment was used up and I had to buy another 1" shorter to get a good fit.
That's not the problem, though, ever since my warm idle is screwed up, it is still at 750, but instead of being rock steady as before, it almost stalls when I let off the gas and recovers to around 750 and it is lumpy and hunting a little bit.
Would the belt coming off and changing the engine load have screwed soming in the ECU? Should I try re-setting the ECU?
My other thought is that the belt thrashing around has hit and damaged something that would effect the idle, but what? Can't find anything loose or obviously damaged - otherwise the car runs as before with no hesitation.
Bone stock 87 n/a with a cone filter.
