power steering differences.

ok i need to know what the differences are in power steering pumps for the fc's and especially between s4 and s5 and if there are major differences i need pictures of where the lines hook up in each please don't flame no time to search this is kinda a emergency.

There are two different power steering systems.

Vehicle speed sensing power steering

and

Engine speed sensing power steering.

Not really a S4 vs S5 thing, as some RX-7s had vehicle speed sensing steering regardless of series; however if it has power steering and is a S4 it will have vehicle speed sensing power steering or no power steering at all.

So you need to know year and model more than anything else.

For example... if you have a 88 GTU, you would have from the factory Vehicle speed sensing power steering, yet a 89 GTU would have engine speed sensing power steering.

But a 89 Turbo or 89 convertible would have vehicle speed sensing power steering.

it is a 91 N/A base i looked at my S4 and the two spots where the lines hook up on my S4GXL/Turbo are not on the S5. So I have no clue how to connect it any help would be amazing. including what you just told me icemark.

so still not understanding what you are trying to do.

Are you putting a S4 motor into a S5 car and trying to use the vehicle speed sensing power steering pump on a engine speed sensing rack and system?

no im trying to put power steering into a S5 that came from an S4 but im guessing thats no bueno thats why i need pics is to figure out exactly what the problems are.

Not gonna work, unless you change the wiring, power steering pump, hoses and rack.
