DONT UPGRADE AN NA. I dont get it, now i understand why you guys always tell people to use teh search function. Jesus christ....
What's wrong with you guys anyways, do you guys have something against modifying a goddamned car? I happen to LIKE my car, and I've already put a hell of a lot of time and effort into it, and it's damn near perfect. I ask nicely for anyone's opinion on a topic and all I seem to ever get is "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON, MORON" when the searches I've tried HAVEN'T ANSWERED MY QUESTION.

So ******* what if I want to modify my car even more? When I started, the car was a rickety old shitheap that I inherited from my brother, and now it's a damn near perfect condition FC. I feel that the car needs more power, I request anyone's opinion on the matter, and all you can say is "do yourself a favor and sell the car..." when you don't have a goddamned clue how much time, money and effort I've put into this car. Sell it? You're out of your ******* mind. You're right. You didn't contribute a damn thing to this thread. So why did you even bother to post?

I'm sorry if I'm blunt, but when all the advice I get is "sell the car" or "use the search button, n00b!" (even when I say that anything a search turned up DIDN'T answer my question), I can't help but get a little irritated. Honestly, I'm getting better and much more courteous responses from other websites that aren't even devoted to the RX-7.

Yes, I am getting sick of the "sell your car and buy a TII" reply as well...

The reason to upgrade an NA is because they are lighter, stiffer, more responsive to steering, braking, and throttle, and more predictable in hard driving than TIIs. They feel like race cars, not Supras.

well come on, get a grip .. obviously if youre asking on a forum what a good power adder is, chances are you dont know the workings of a rotary well enough to build and NA fast. That why when all the NA guys come in bitching about wanting more power, they are told to just buy a t2. A 13bt is 100x better plateform than a 6 port 13b. Im just all pissy because its the same stupid *** questions over and over and over ... i mean, i could just ignore it and not reply, yet something inside me drives me to make a response that is somewhat negative and hopefully gets my point across. I try not to do that, but some posts just need it...

what is it you want to know? You say you want power below 3000 rpm, well the design of these engines is for max power above 5000... if you want low end i suggest a new engine. You can get a supercharger (waste of money imo) and get some more power out of it, however you will still lack power below 3000. You can turbocharge it and have alot more versitility yet you will still not have much power below 3000. You can use nitrous, yet you can only spray above 4500 rpm... those are 3 main power adders, and anything else you do to gain power is going to be giving you power above 5000, these engines were designed for that, so its either live with it or try a new engine.

So bottom line being, you arent going to make alot of power under 3000 rpm on a rotary... ever. However its your car, no one can tell you how to build it, just build it better than me and i will shut up.

When i wanted more power from my N/A, everybody says to go turbo or swap a TII driveline right, but i bought the rotary to be different and so to be different i wanted to go with a supercharger aslo. I just bought an imaculate and very tight M90 eaton s/c off ebay for $150.
I am making the mounting brackets for it right now. it fits perfectly on the passenger side of the engine. I am piping the supercharger just like a turbo. (fabbing steel plates with pipe stubs welded on so i can connect hoses the the plates, and the steel plates will bolt right up to the superchargers ports) I will also have a blow-off valve inline between the s/c and the throttle body to help control boost and not have boost surges infront of the throttle plates. I have looked at the flow charts for the s/c and they seem to be an ideal match. I am having a v-belt pulley machined for the supercharger as well, so i dont have to change the crank pulley and others to serpentine. I am only looking to boost about 5 or 6 psi and already have a s-afc so i should be able to control preignition easily. I will post some pics in the short future when i get farther along if anyone is interested?

exactly. n/a's are like hodas man. u HAVE to take it to redline to get power. that is what it was built for. there are lots of kool mods u can do, like headers, exhaust, intake manifold, port job, flywheel... but they will all boost high end power, which is where u should be if u are passin someone in the first place. c'mon, shiftin gears is fun!
