Possible bent clutch fork?

How realistic is it that i could have bent my clutch fork. I have an act extreme pressure plate I beleive, the guy I bought it from wasn't sure. Well that's what the street strip clutch is right? the extreme pressure plate with a stockish disk? Anyhow, it has newer clutch master and slave, and it has been bleed a billion times but the clutch still only releases like 1/2 - 1 inch off the floor. And it's pretty hard to get into first and reverse. I've even shimmed the actuator rod on the slave to try to give it more throw. Oh btw this is a 87 T2. What do ya'll think, could I have bent her?

I doubt it.
Almost impossible on an FC turbo clutch fork.
If it was a non-turbo one, then I would say it's possible.
The turbo clutch fork is stronger than the non-turbo one - kudos to hIGGI for finding that odd fact out!

If you got it narrowed down to the clutch fork itself, I wouldn't be surprised it "fell off" the pivot ball, or the pivot ball itself broke.

hmm I'll look into that. I can move the fork quit a bit up and down and stuff when I remove the slave, is that normal? It's been a year or so sense i've had an engine out and don't really remember how it was. anyway to figure this out without pulling the engine or dropping the tranny? thanks

I had the ACT extreme pressure plate and it broke the pivot ball.

Yeah, it sounds like the clutch fork isn't sitting right on the pivot ball or the pivot ball broke.

Sorry, no way to take care of this without pulling everything apart...

Where does the the pivot ball actually mount, I tryed looking through the fsm but don't see it. If I take the clutch fork boot off is it that bolt that's right behind the fork? or is it deeper down in. Does anyone happen to have a picture of it by any chance, or a spare tranny laying around that they could take a picture of for me? Thanks

Yeah, it's just threaded into the bell housing.
Once you pop the clutch fork off the pivot ball, then it'll be obvious what you're dealing with.

Update, I dropped the tranny today and it is definetly the pivot ball .. oh well at least it's a cheap fix. i'm gonna get the ball, new throw out bearing, new pilot bearing, new shifter bushings, and throw in some redline mtl-90 and hopefully she'll be mint!
