Porting TII?

Porting TII?

My daily driver is a 91 'vert RX7, and I bought an 88 TII over the summer because I love the rotary engine. I am pulling the engine so I can rebuild it and port it. I need about 3 more hours until it is out (3 hours because I am 17 and am not as skilled with cars as you guys yet).


I called Racing Beat last week and they said porting a turbo engine would mess up the intake flow characteristics so that the turbo's and engine's flow did not match up. I think this is crazy, so I come to you guys for help.

Can I port my TII and if so, where should I send the engine to?

Ive never hard anyone say that. To me thats impossible. Porting will help increase power on any turbocharged engine. Maybe you should contact Mazdatrix. If your confident enough, I think they sell porting templates. They do porting themselves too.

You can port your engine a you would gain some hp i did it to my car and i regreted ever since .The problem is if you have a heavy
right foot it will lead you to bankrupcy real quick try 8 miles per gallon think about it .There are better to get those hp

When i spoke to one of the Mazdatrix guys he also said the same thing!..They dont recommend porting a turbo motor. He didn't feel like explaining things so i just went to their website and read an article about porting 4PORTS. It says that it does not add that much HP. My previous motor was streetported and it felt very strong!..

again what the F does maztrix know there into road racing
where porting makes no diffrence.
For drag racing it makes a HUGE diffrence!

look at maztrix's 20B dragster what a joke

What a joke, it makes a huge difference in both,

porting is porting and porting make more HP, more HP means you can accelerate harder and faster, weather it be down a 400m strip (pretty lame in my opinion) or along a multitude of straights and around corners (more challenging) it helps a helluva lot
