Ported manifold pictures?
Since it's been a LONG time now (nearly a year) since the original thread was posted (now in the archives), does anyone have any pics of the actual ported manifolds (it'd be great to get them in a write-up form)? I just went through all 6 pages to make sure that none existed (there was only one that was "halfway" ported), as expected there is nothing except the picture of the drill bit that you can use . Anyway, does anyone have any pics of this...and while I'm asking questions...has anyone dyno'd the car with the ported manifolds yet (dyno sheets only please). Thanks ahead of time...I'm about to port my goods and just want to see what's the new consensus on this...and get some pics too.

Dont do this mod. Its completly pointless and if you go to far your car will not run right. The stock Intake has enough airflow to be running 400 hp and I doubt very many people have that much power on there street fc

Care to elaborate on "the stock intake has enough airflow to be running 400hp"?
I've got a 55 gallon drum with no ends on it that can support 1000hp, it doesn't mean it can't be made more efficent by smoothing the airflow. I agree that the "next step" thread, w/ the egg-shaped secondairy runners is pointless... I'd just gasket match the intake if I were going to do it... again... like I did the 1st time...

Seriously, it's like saying the stock exhaust can flow up to 200hp so it's not neccesary to change it out. Just because something CAN do something doesn't mean it can't be made more efficient. I've never heard of anyone running into any drivability problems from porting the manifold (all the problems are when they forget a vacuum hose or don't use new gaskets). If it idles high, adjust it.

Porting the manifold was one of the best mods Ive done to my car, aside from the ported motor. And the drivability problems you hear about are from people screwing up. Either they forget a vacuum line, or they port too much and the manifold cracks. There are absolutely no drivability problems with it when done right.

Im just saying that i think it is pretty pointless. if you go to far with the port then your fuel will not atomize properly. sure go and smooth all the rough edges out just dont go to nuts with it
