popping in the rear?

Unhappy popping in the rear?

idk what the problem is really.. but i can start up the 88 turboII rx7.....but when i put in 1st.. and i start to roll.... i can feel and hear a loud popping sound commin from the rear.. then i put it in 2nd, and pops again...i have no clue what it is..can someone pm me and lemme know what it may be?

Check your u-joints and diff mounts.

sounds like the front differential mount, if it pops everytime u shift

Yep, diff mounts. I once had a popping noise in my FD though due to a worn control arm bushing. It popped on shifts and bumps.

I doubt its the driveshaft(u-joints), more than likely the front differential mount.
