There is a tech article that details the finer points of TII idle. If nobody posts it before I get home, I will post the link for ya.

QUICKEST WAY TO FIND IF THERE IS A VACUUM LEAK IS TO HOSE THE ENGINE DOWN WITH WATER. IT HELPS ME ALL THE TIME.

don't hose it down. if the leak is big enough, you could cause hydrolock. equivalent of trying to crush a stone. Water is uncompressable.

Try misting water with a spray bottle. I have to do this myself whenever i have time.

Water will drop the idle. Carb cleaner and the like will raise the idle. Either way works, but be careful with the flamable stuff.

You cant hydrolock a rotary....never heard of the water trick..steam cleaning engine internals by taking a vaccuum hose and sticking in a jug of water??

That is The Water Trick (da-dum!) but doing that won't find a vacuum leak. :snicker:
