poor acceleration

My car is a 88 non-turbo S4. At the higher rpms in first and second gear, it accelerates slow around 5k. Any ideas why?

Because it is an N/A.

Check the 5th/6th ports and see if they are working. You most likely need to clean them. There is a write-up in the Archives.

Your cats may also be clogged. Did you do a full tune up too?

check the plugs, even if nothing is really wrong, they'll tell you whats going on in there.

and, the fuel filter is on the drivers side, almost under the car, at the bottom of the fire wall.

If you crawl underneath your car on the driver's side and look up you will see several metal lines goes from the rear to the front of the car. If you follow them up towards the engine you will find the fuel filter. It can be a real pain to change.
