i went to change the plugs on my car, and when i take them out they looked all crusty and stuff. the surface of the plugs were all tan and burnt. could there be any reason why the plugs were this burned?

wouldn't the Safc just cover up an existing problem and make it a little dangerous? I wouldn't go for the SAFC unless you have gauges to tune it at the very least. Pick up another O2 sensor, a/f and maybe even EGT gauge so you can actually see what's going on. Then maybe spend the big bucks on the Safc if you want to expand and do more mods. Just my ideas, though...

Or you can be cool like me, and wait for your car club's next "Dyno Day", and tune it the safe way!!

crust could be some residue from additives--are you using any? premix? metering pump? both? injector cleaner?

tan is not rich.....it means your running stoich, thats the color you wanna see on your plugs. you just dont want the crust.

black plugs are a signal that your running rich!!

Good call. Thanks Grimlock. And MazdaRX7Power, it is not a Rex only club. It is a sports car club here at my college. I am trying to get a RX-7 exclusive club goin as well.
