Please Please Help!!!

I have a 1987 turbo 2. The guy I got it from had things already done to it and he was driving it. Then he decided to put a front mount on and things. He had some work done to the turbo, it has 1600cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, pressure regulator, denso plugs full racing beat exhaust and a microtech. He had it tuned and told me it was set at 13 pounds of boost and thats all I know. Before i got it it had an izuzu intercooler. So he decided to put a bigger front mount in and that was when he stopped and sold it to me. I put the front mount in and a greddy blow off valve and thats all I did. My problem is this... I got it to run but if i rev it up to like 4 or five grand and let off the throttle stays there it wont idle back down. sometimes it will even stay at 2 grand. I shut it off and sometimes it will idle normal. Also when it idles normal i noticed the rpms will drop down like it wants to stall and starts putterin but it wont stall it will pick itself back up and idle fine then do it again. The car also seems like it is runnin VERY rich. I can smell it. Please give me any thoughts that you have. This is my first 7 so i dont know alot about them yet. Any input would be so awsome!!! Hope to hear from someone... Thank you very much for reading my post!!

it's all in the microtech tuning. if the bac valve is hooked up then the duty cycle can be tuned. make sure the throttle cable isn't binding. make sure the throttle body fully closes.

Tuning includes the idle. Your car has a Microtech engine management system which totally replaces the original system. This is a good thing, but you will need tuning by a professional every time you replace a major performance component (intercooler, exhaust, fuel injectors, etc.) and as the engine wears and accumlates deposits. Find a good professional (bonded and insured) Microtech RX-7 tuner in your regional forum. Plan on spending about $300-500 for the tuning.

Just went out and messed with the car a little more. The throttle seems to get stuck when I am in boost. I will rev it up and it will stay at high rpm. I get out and try to throttle it down by hand and the throttle cable is not stuck. Then I shut the car off and start it back up and the idle is fine. I dont know maybe the plates are not closed all the way?? Sorry guys I am new at this rotary thing I just dont want to start messin with stuuf and get myself in a deeper hole. I am just tryin to learn as much as possible about this car as I can.

He is on a Microtech. That screw does nothing now.

i think you should check your throttle cable and linkage...sounds like the throttle body isn't closing as much as it should be

The Microtech is tuned very poorly and it sounds like the throttle cable may be binding. Have it tuned by a professional who knows what they are doing.

See ya know whats weird tho guys... I noticed yesterday that when it does get "stuck" I just shut the car off and wait a few seconds and then I start it back up and the idle is fine. If it was the cable or the plates being open wouldnt the idle still be high when I start it back up??

OK, then it's a tuning issue.

come to find out my bov is not even going off. I had it in soft and hard and inbetween and it does nothing at all. I pulled the hose off of it and there is vacuum there. I dont think that would give me a sticking idle by like leavin something open?? but I gotta fix that tho for sure
