This is the out side of the hood. Purple, because. No honestly I was just trying out some powder coat and prefered the candy purle over the candy red.

Correct, they are powder coated. The thermostat necks present a problem being porous aluminum. The coolant soaks in and when you go to the bake cycle the trapped moisture vaporizes and creates pockets in the coating. This usually only happens in the area where the radiator hose covers the neck. Baking the part for 30-60 minutes before coating minimizes the problem.

trochoid did u powder coat them your self... if so would you do it for people... and give a guesstimate price on the stuff you did under your hood

Yes I did these myself. Still working some of the technical difficulties out, but I am getting there. I also did the wheels on the Z in the pic.

As for pricing, I have no idea yet. The powder coating itself isn't really hard, just tricky. The prep work however is quite labor intensive.
