Well the top picture is of the car running when it has just been started, and the bottom is after I drove it for like 2 miles and it was up to running temp. You really kinda have to look at the picture to see the smoke in the bottom, and it is smoking in the top one to but not as much, and I thought it was because of coolant, but it hasn't smoked as bad as it was for a while now. But when I drove it, around about 6-7,000 rpm's it smoked enough to kill all the insects for about 100 square miles. Could somone explain to me why it smokes more when cold than hot, and why it smokes very heavily at high RPM's.

White smoke is indicative of coolant leaking into the engine and being combusted with the fuel. When it wams up it's probably worse because the seals are expanding and letting more coolant leak through. Are you loosing coolant? A good way to tell is to hook up a coolant sytem pressure gauge and pump it to about 14 psi. You'll find right away if it can't hold pressure
Well if it is a coolant leak it is very slow because I have only had the add coolant light come on once. But it isn't as think as I would emagine a coolant leak to be. And if it is coolant why does it smoke so bad at high rpm's??
Also what color is oil smoke?

yeah, high rpm smoke does say oil control rings to me though....
Smell the smoke, have a friend take a picture of a WOT run so we can see the massive smoke to get a better idea of what the smoke looks like.

I wish I had a big straight away, I think if I tryed to take the picture I would rap it around a tree. I'll try to talk my brother in to it tommorrow, I really don't think he will be to thrilled with ridind with me. Hehehe
Well maybe I can get him to hand out of the sunroof while I go for a redline run. Other wise I will sit the camera on the side of the road and start a movie and then go for it. Maybe I can just ducktape the camera to the top of the car.
crap I just left an insane burn out in our neighbor hood and my mom is probably going to see it and chew me out. And after making the vid, I just lost it, I downloaded it to the computer watched it once and can't find it now. I really think my car is haveing mood swings or it need to be driven more. I took it all the way threw third gear in like about 1/8 of a mile to go and stop, and then turn around. And it really only put out little puffs of smoke at the shifts. I don't get it???
Well, the bad news is in, even though I tried to deny it and say it was somthing else I think every think it is doing is caused by coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. I just started the car up a minute ago and the coolant buzzaer came on, I took the cap off, and it was nearly dry in there and I just filled it up not even 2 days ago, and I havn't run it but like 1 hour at the most. I think my baby is telling me she wants a rebuild.

do you get alot of smoke on startup also? Mine doesnt smoke alot during running, but startup is rough, especially if it has been sitting for an extended period...Mine has a blown coolant o-ring, btw, turbo II
No there is more smoke when it is warm and less when cold, and it is burning to much coolant to spew it out, but there is plentty of presure in it when it is warm and running.
