pics - GTU-S ultrasport model - HOLLY CRAP!!!

DAMN!!!!!!

This really is that rare GTU-S model. It's the Turbo II without the turbo.

Notice the lack of a sunroof for weight savings.

DAMN - if you were going to supercharger a GTU-S, this would be the one.

From thepartstrader.com 's forsale section:

MaxRX7,

Those are the stock TII wheels in the 89-92 years.

NOTE!!!!

This car is SO light, a Supercharger would be perfect for 350rwhp, low end torque, instant boost, heavy duty TII transmission, drive axel, rear LSD differential, rear steer - oh yeah!!!!

A perfect street-legal racing car.

The vert wheels look completely different (IMHO) and are 15" as opposed to those rims (TII) which are 16"

hence its aka "It's the Turbo II without the turbo"

Wow, I guess that misnomer has been overdue to appear again.

The GTUs does NOT have a Turbo II tranny.

Sure about that? He says this is a special edition GTU-S.

If the TII tranny weighed more (it hanldes 450+HP) and your only pushing 180HP which the NA tranny can handle, I can totally understand your point.

It might be his "Special Edition", but there weren't any from the factory.
The GTUs had the TII suspension & brakes, not the tranny.

Yours was the 1st edition "stripped for racing" model. The GTU-S (2nd edition) replace the sport (think that's right).
