Low fuel economy..

I have replaced the oxygen sensor and set my air/fuel mixture to the right spot. I'm still getting only 16 mpg... even when I do drive nice. What can I do to fix it?

I get the same MPG as you, if not lower. Maybe our headers, exhaust, intake have something do with it

same here...in my n/a i got 450 miles in one tank the other day cruising at about 80-90

my T2 gets a little less on the highway...i guess due to the different gear ratio and higher revs while cruising

I guess n/a's are just worse on gas mileage because the owners drive them like T2s

I think it's due to the winter gas.
They put different additive and more ethenol in there to stablize the gas.

I've also noticed my gas milage go down.

I get about 200 miles to a tank on my rx7. Of corse I only get 21mpg on my turbo saab which is suposed to get like 26 or more. I guess I am a hard driver.

Also my shift up light comes on in 5th gear (rx7), someone said that the computer slows down the fuel pump (from 13v to 9v) and this increases milage, so mine is not doing that, therefore wasting more fuel.

In the fall my saab got about 27mpg, now Im getting 21mpg, I suspect my O2 sensor is crappy and the gas is now oxigenated in the state of CT.

Unless rotaries are different from other engines in fuel usage too, the reason you use more gas in the winter isn't the additives. Cold air is more dense, and thus requires more fuel...but it also results in a lil bit more power. That's why colder temperatures are better come track time.

As a daily driver I get 16-18mpg and even at the track I get over 11mpg at its worst just befor it rebuild it gave me 12-14mpg on the Hwy.
So I say to all you getting less than 12mpg there must be a problem - Shoot even the 180k+ orig miles T-II loaner I had during the rebuild got 14-16mpg as my daily driver

My 88 N/A does around 65 Miles the first 1/2 of the tank, then it does 130 miles for the last 1/2 of the tank. So I just fill up 1/2 the tank Weird huh.

I went about 315 miles in my FC and I got about 22.5 mpg on the highway. That included 30 miles of city driving. Is that good?

I still feel that maybe I should do something about my mileage. Are there ANY changes I can make to make it better? I'm already driving half as agressive as I was before and I STILL get 15 mpg.

HELP!!!

how is that possible....450 miles in one tank, I only get 186 consistently with very very very good driving? My car sucks on gas soo bad! That is why I am thinking of getting rid of it, just, just! because of the gas consumption. In winter too it's worse, letting it warm up for 15minutes is killer! What could be the cause of bad mpg, and is there any fix??!!

what year is your car? usually the 86-88's had a smaller tank from what i understand. i got 450 after 7 hours of highway cruising (So it wasn't stop and go traffic). how old is your O2 sensor?

If your O2 sensor is bad then your car would run rich causing increased fuel consumption. That would contribute to bad gas mileage. I replaced mine and still got about 15-16.5 mpg.
