pics of Agent D's manifold Im porting

These ports are finished, but the manifold hasnt been cleaned yet. Ill have pics of the lower manifold in a few days when I finish it.

If anybody is wondering, my manifold is ported the same, and I was very impressed with the results.

My friend had porting done exactly like that and we could barely feel a difference. I don't think it does much andis kinda a waste of time. the only thing that is realy worth it is matck the manifold to where it bolts to the engine and thats it other wise save money and eventualy tear it donw and do some realy porting. just my thought....

Your friend must have not done something right, because the 2 people I know with ported VDI manifolds here(me and PP13BNOS) both felt more of a gain from the ported manifold than from full exhaust. We both have true dual exhaust, too.

Node, by the time you start modding that car, I will have a ported engine.

Money....lolol.... If u dont have a dremel then 60 bucks will buy u one. or go rent one from home depot. The rest is free bro... Unless U plan on braking something like those plastic injector atomizer things on the VDI manifold.

I have a Wizard (different brand than a dremel, but essentially the same thing), I just don't want to screw something up! After my little accident w/ misgrounding the battery, and almost frying my ECU, I am a little more careful now!So I just port match the upper, middle and lower manifolds? How deep do I grind into the runners?

I think the pic explains it... U see how roughf it gets in the pics... I would say right thier. Like what was explained earlier, the runners are fine. Its the flanges that reduce in diameter that need to match the runners diameter. And the flange length isnt that long so A dremel or wizard is all u need. Yes do the whold thing and dont forget to port match the lower to the engine too. I would thnk u can just stick a wet rag in the engine hole and grind enoughf to match it up then get all the shavings out. Since your going to be down thier u should get the 6port racing sleeves dont ya think?

I am not porting manifolds for anybody else. I HATE doing that!!!!!!! Mine didnt seem so bad, but once I started doing his, I realized just how much porting sucks to do. Its not hard, just time consuming.

If anybody is planning on doing it, a picture is worth a thousand words. Look at your manifold, compare it to the pics, and youll know where and how much to port. Its that simple. Just keep an eye on the thickness of the alum, and you wont have anything to worry about.
