peeing red, power steering?

peeing red, power steering?

yay now ive got a drippy red leak under the oil cooler on the driver's side...

at first i thought it was oil, until i noticed it was red and didnt smell like oil

where should i look for the leak? its obviously from above but with no PS knowledge, what usually leaks? what should i look for?

look at all the joints in the ps. You can put florscent dye in your PS and take it for a drive, then look for the exact point of leakage with a black light. Most auto parts stores have the dye in little bottles near the AC stuff.

My P/S was leaking on my 88GTU a while back. Ended up being the "looped P/S cooler line" in front of the rad. Had to cut half the loop out and replace with rubber hose. Still works. FYI, the "cooler loop" is low pressure.

Could also be ATF. The auto trany has a cooler line that runs though the rad.
