Partial Emissions Removal....Dumb Idea?

Ok,
I was looking into cleaning up my engine bay by removing the vac spider and air pump systems. I have searched and understand what can be removed safely from the car. Unfortunately the governement has changed their mind and instead of being emissions exempt I now am subject to emissions checks. If you remove the vac spider and other elements but keep the air pump and its connection to the cat will it still pass emmissions or is that just a dumb idea? I am not concerned about the visual check just the output in the sniffer. I know regions are all different for emission levels but if some has done this out there and passed I will feel a bit more confident about my outcome.
Thanks in advance

200$? holy crap here in Houston we have emissions checks but I know several people who'll get you "passed" for 70$. One gay mechanic I know said he'd do mine for free. But I question his motives...

That unfortunately can't be done in Canada.unless the Tester is willing to Bite a 50,000 dollar Fine and get shut-down..WINTER39..The Best thing now that you can do Is to get a GOOD HI-Flow Cat..and hook the Air Pump Directly to the Split Air Tube..at the Firewall ..and make sure the Engine Is in good running Order..another thing you may want to look into is adding Methyl Hydrate to your Near empty gas tank...before the test(and a good half hour of spirited driving before adding the Stuff..so the cat is hot and working properly)..Searching into Emissions, failed emissions,hi-flo catalytic..stuff like that on previous forum threads..Best to ya winter..Mistyerstyx69

So...If i keep the airpump and the connection to a high flow cat can the other emission items still be removed?

Depends on if there is a visual component to the check. If they look in your engine bay and **** is missing they might just fail you on the spot.

as far as I've SEEN..(the emission shop testing in Canada)..all they look for Essentially is a Catalytic Converter,,and that your Exhaust does not have Leaks..(that would give the Tester a "false" reading)..Not alot of Testers are Professionals..they are Canadian Tire Jocks..(no offense) ..and they Do not know about A rotary Engine if it Hit Them in the ***..so you could have a WINDMILL in the engine Compartment..as long as it "looks stock"..and has a Catalytic on the exhaust..Also ..good to note That the they will not Put your car on the Dyno,if they Deem it "unsafe"..(bad tires for instance)
