Question How loud is ok?

Im talking about when the car is in the ignition position, without it being started, when i was inspecting under the hood, the fuel thingies were pulsating really loudly. Is that ok?

On a side note, I smeel gas in the car on certain mornings, even when the car is warmed up, I seem to have a oil leak under the intake manifold somewhere, I checked the PD of course, and it came up negative? Any suggestions?

On a S4, the fuel should not be running unless that car is running, cranking, or has the fuel plug jumpered.

And smell of gas is bad, and suggests a fuel leak. In some cases there can also be a fuel smell from that charcoal canister, which then suggest other fuel system problems.

and your signature is too big... 6 lines not 12.

How strong would the smell (gas or similar) be from the charcoal canister area if it was removed?

By "thingies" I assume you mean injectors...

What you're hearing is not the injectors, it's the BAC valve on the side of the manifold. It works similar to injectors by pulsing open and closed rapidly, and varying the duty cycle to vary the airflow through it.

The injectors can't fire unless the engine is turning.
