Overtorqued bolt... snapped in half! Please help!!

Overtorqued bolt... snapped in half! Please help!!

my front left headlight was off alignment so i unbolted it and str8end it up.. when i bolted the left bolt down, i tighted it too much and it snapped off the hea of the bolt. now my light is sideways when i turn them on cuz it only has one bolt holding it on. how the hell do i get the other half out of the hole so i can put a new bolt in it. thanks in advance

i think craftsman sell some tool that lets you back out a broken bolt or screw. there are also reverse dril bits I think that is what they are called.

if u dont get it with that, u COULD take it to the nearest welding shop and get them to weld a washer to the broken bolt then weld another hardened bolt to the washer, works everytime, i work at a shop and do it at least once a day. but its just a thought

Drill it out, then retap the hole.

both sears and home depot and just about any other hardware store will have screw extractors. theyre usually like 3 bucks a piece or 10-20 for a set depending on quantity/quality. annnnnd being a nice guy i found a tutorial for you google style: http://www.bluepoof.com/motorcycles/...rew_extractor/

Depending how clean the threads are, you can sometimes just use a pick and catch the edge of the broken bolt and back it out by hand.
