I thik they do a little work but i suppose that the first one on the strut towers does the brunt of the woik.

I would think there only to make the car look more agressive. I soppose you could use them a coat hanger bars

they would be for extra stiffening but I would not pay that for them. What would that be in US dollars?

Without some form of triangulation I don't think they will actually accomplish anything. Also the seatbelts are threaded wrong and may not be secure in a crash.

The way the seat belt is attached looks dangerous.

Some strut bars are (like mine) built with the dual purpose of being an attachement point for harnesses. His are far lower than they should be and wouldn't pass an SCCA tech if they didn't want it to based on geometry alone.

The upper bars as evidenced by the flexed mounting locations don't really look capable of adding anything but weight. Even if they were tied into eachother, that portion of the car has little to worry about flexing. Look at Higgi's n/a if you don't believe me. The B pillar looks pretty good while the front of the car is squished around the front of it.

It's not the strength I'm worried about, that bar looks pretty strong. It's the way the belts are threaded. They have to be doubled back thru the buckle or they can slip out in a crash.

From the looks of everything in that car, he doesn't know what he's doing. I just pointed out the issues with the bars.

What kind of jackass puts the fire extinguisher out of reach? I've had race seats in a daily driver and I know damn well you can't bend your shoulder around that sucker from the seated position to get to it.

This guy has more money than sense.

yeah, looks like hes doin most of this for looks...
and not really thinking it through.

he should have gotten a roll cage instead of those lousy bars.

they probably do help a bit,

but a rollcage would help more, and provide safety.

I bet losing the couple pounds those bars add would be more benificial than having them

Hey thats my car!

Anyways I have already removed the middle pillar bar because that middle bar was just for "show". It is the same bar as the top bar, i just tested it and found that it fit too. The top pillar bar actually stiffens the body. Just as if you are pulling on the rear strut bar the car will move. It doesn't flex. I bought the bar direclty from Japan and is proven to work. The bar is also used to hold my camcorder holder.
I have a Jegs roll bar comming in so the top pillar bar will be gone.

The rear silver box is my battery box. It had to be a sealed box with a vent tube under SCCA rule. I had no were else to put it so I put in the back. The fire esinguisher i can easily reach.

What do you mean the seatbelts are threaded wrong? That is a 6 point 3 inch Spaco Belt. I had the 4 pointed bolted to the floor of the car and if you look closely at the rear hanress its not the ordinary belts where you have to criss-cross them. There is a degree in how you place the belts and the positioning of the seat belt is certified.
