Optima Battery???

I am thinking of getting optima battery. I was wondering if is worth the money, is there any notable difference, and if so what size for an FC? Any one here using them? Let me know thanks

Group 34/78 will fit. Not sure about the quality today though, but the Red Top I bought back in '03 is excellent and has never let me down. So yes, it's worth the money.

I've also read on the forum that Deka is another excellent brand and better in quality than Optima.

Just remember that if you store your car during the winter, disconnect and remove the battery from the car, place it on a piece of wood, and use a trickle charger like the Battery Tender.

If you can, get a red top for sure- definitely worth the money. My dad had the same battery in his truck for ELEVEN YEARS... I didnt even know it was possible to have any battery for that long, its crazy.

I've had my optima yellow cap for 5 years now under a monsterous stereo drain and it has held a charge for a year sitting on a shelf.

I have a red top mine. I have had 0 problems w/it for about 2 years. And my alt is really weak too. I don't remember what I had before that, but it tested out ok. But then the tester put a load on the batt, and it went down to like 1.5-2 V. Yeah, deffinately replaced it, lol...later

the yellow top is the best even when you add stereo equipment to it it will take a heavy load

i have had 2 red tops and they never lasted more than 2-3 years, maybe i just have bad luck. btw the last red top i had blew the vent due to a dead cell and the deep cycling of the battery and blew acid all over the side of my truck and etched the paint.

has anyone seen the small-cased yellowtops? The race battery sized ones. I recently saw one but can't find any info for it.

I'm looking to replace my yellowtop that just keeled over (got it 6 years ago)
