Oooops... I bought an S4 Radiator for my S5

I just bought a used but in great condition s4 radiator for my s5. I didn't realize that they were different. Is there any way to make the s4 one work on my car? Im loosing fluid fast and need a new radiator. I'm loosing fluid from the filler neck is there anyway to swap it out or something.
Thanx

even if i get the thing mounted how do i put in the coolant? On an s5 the rad cap/filler is on the rad. On the s4 the cap/filler is mounted to the block.

I am not sure what mountign differences you are talkin about. I took a rad off an 89 and it bolted right into my 86 no problem. CEpt in my case I have 2 filler caps/overflows.

^^^yeah but hes sayin that he CURRENTLY HAS AN S5 AND BOUGHT AN S4 RAD. MEANING YOU DONT HAVE A PRESSURE CAP RIGHT? well if thats the case try and trade or if not and it mounts right up fill the rad using the upper rad hose. but fill the block as it will fill the rad.when its full(dont fill the rad. cuz the block will then starve and you will posibly overheaT UR motor.)and after you fill it with straight coolant(not the reduced **** as it may seize the block) then connect hose, and top it off using the overflow bottle. but try and see if someone will trade you first.erik

I dont think it would be a good idea have a coolant system without a pressure cap at all, you will probably just end up blowing hoses all teh time (and/or coolant seals) from the unregulated pressure. And you probalby want to use 35/65 coolant mix, not straight coolant. I would just trade the radiator for one with a cap.

my bad i should have clarified that u dont want to run straight coolant either i meant top it off with water usually u go by 1 quart coolant to whatever else to top it off with water which is usually close to another quart of water. (leaving u with a 70/30 coolant to water)but like ^^ said it probaly isnt a good idea. especially being that an overheating to our engines could possibly mean a rebuild i thikn you may just want to eat this one as a learning expierience and just go with the right one.(BEST BET)

call radiator.com they are good at getting anything you need. an oem one would cost you about $159 with a 1 year warranty.

edit: their number is 800-248-8720
