oooh exhaust thread
Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone's run a straight pipe from the cat w/ a resonator but no muffler? I was thinking of piping 2.5in out from the cat and funneling it up to a 3" resonator and 3" piping to the back. just wanna knw if anyone's done it so i can get a sound clip. THanks.

sidepipe with no resonator! lol. I would rather have piping going to one main muffler, it will still b plenty loud. A apex n1 muffler is pretty much the size of a resonator

true but the can is just an unsightly thing. Personally i dont like it. Plus, though it is my track car i dont have a trailer yet so im still driving it on the freeway and stuff. I think with the resonator it'll be at an "ok" level and it wont look like its making a loud racket if police do hear it since it doesnt look like a "ricer" exhaust lol
I was thinking of getting this one but it wont fit within the ehxaust "hole" in the rear bumper unless i angle it out...

I heard that California emissions are pretty tough, but isn't that relaxed for track cars?? Can't you just run a 3 inch pipe straight out the side of the car? That will give you a big power increase.

I take it you've never heard an unmuffled rotary. You better buy some earplugs or you will have a headache within minutes of driving it like that. At the very least, I'd stick a Borla muffler where the main cat would usually sit. You won't lose any horsepower, but the exhaust note will be reduced/not sound like crap.
