OMP working?
Not experiencing any problems, but how do you know if your OMP is working? I looked at the four clear oil lines right near the water pump. If they are visibly brown inside with no bubbles, does that mean its working?
thanks

Yor profile says 89 TII... You have an electric Pump... to tell if its working or not, do an ECU Code Check
Here is a guys web site who has hte procedure and codes. its pretty easy for an '89
http://www.johnr.com/cpucodes.html
on 89-91' when the oil pump goes.. it usually takes the ECU with it and then you'd know it, cause you car would fall flat on its face and the engine light would come on every time you tried to put a load on it!! ( I went through this before!!)
PS... brown oil lines may or may not mean that the oil pump is working... but my oil lines are pretty clear caue i change my oil every 1500 miles and they dont get dirty!!

A word of note-
the pumps can be working just fine, but what about the adjustment?
I cut oil lines off a car in a junkyard and used them to measure the output of the pump. I was well below the FSM specs. When I checked the clearance on the rod, it was way too much. Someone (the shop that installed the previous owners new engine) put the cotter pin in the wrong hole. Instead of 1mm clearance, I had almost a 1/4 ".
Switch holes, a couple washers for shims and the output is near the maximum.
