OMP stick missing!!
OMP stick missing!!
i just found out what i was missing by the throttle, the oil metering pump stick.
Should i be worrying about this? i'm curious to know.. is this why i'm leaking oil by the driver side of the motor by the oil filter?

should i buy one or find one... any one got a spare
well, hold that thought... i'm going to get a rx7 89 tomorrow... going to try the s5 intake manifold swap and would the OMP stick fit afterwards? well, give me inputs!! thanks!!
the 89 is not running.. and has body work to be done.. think its flooded but will try to fix it before the swap..

89 has electric omp so there is no rod. No reason why you can't buy some rod stock & bend one up your self. If you do the S5 intake swap you'll need to keep your s4 throttle body, front cover & mechanical OMP. The stock s4 OMP rod would have to be bent to clear the s5 intake manifold. I did it... wasn't to difficult. As far as your oil leak on the drivers side by the oil filter? Have you deleted some vacuum lines from the oil fill neck? There's two nipples on it I believe. Possibly double gasket on oil filter?

two lines/nipples on the oil fill neck. Normally vented to the intake manifold. you can plug the lower but the upper should be vented through a catch can with a filter.

If you have no rod, and no OMP to attach it to, then you should have been pouing two stroke oil in the gas tank when you filled up.
No OMP action means premature wear of the apex seals. It would take quite a bit of driving to wear 'em out completly. So put some two stroke oil in the gas each time you fill up.

People who don't use the OMP mix or they're term *premix* two stroke oil with each new tank of gas. Do a SEARCH using the words PRE MIX or PRE-MIX or even TWO STROKE OIL and you'll get an idea of how much or what to pour in the fuel tank.

Look at your OMP (on the front cover) and see if it still has the lines going towards the block, if it does, it probably still has the oil injectors. For now, just run premix until you can find a rod, which should be really easy to find...
actually.. no..i dont see any and i'm now so sure that i have an omp block off... how many people do the pre-mix stuff anyway? is it better or having the omp better?andif i get the oil injectors.. how do i go about reinstalling them?
thanks guys for the support so far

no.. all he said was its leaking... but i know a lot more than i did than... i'll go with the pre-mix... did a search and understand things a bit more now... but i'm still just concerned about the leak from the water housing and by the oil filter...
thanks guys
thanks guys
I was wondering I checked the fuel flow and it was fine. I ended up disassembling the dynamic chamber and there was a really heavy and thick sludge in the bottom part that goes into the motor. It was like a lot of oil and gas mixed with carbon deposits. like half a cup of it. What could be causing that?

well the owner should have generated a list of what has been removed an mods done to car in the first place when you bought the car..stupidity on both parties.so he removed all emissions egr/acv/omp and blocked them off. and you have been running around for almost a year with no premixing..wow hope everything rks out but you need to go through the entire car and see whaqt else is out f place/missing/blocked to get a farther understanding of what is needed and where your car is exactly at asap
yea, i suppose dumb on both parties.. but what can i say.. it was my first rx7 and it was going for only 400 for a running car and nice shell(minimal rust and fixable body)... and this is minnesota... so i couldnt refuse.
well.. technically i havent been driving it, but started it once in awhile to keep the compression good.. but i'm going to get some 2 stroke soon and fill her up all the way good.
other than all the most important... my car is missing the interior, which isnt something i'd put effort into until fall kicks in...
