OMP replacment?
OMP replacment?
Hey guys,
I just wanted to know how hard it is to replace the OMP in my NA S5 and if its the kind of job I could do in my driveway in a few hours. My original OMP is dusted and I think its taken out the ecu aswell as they tend too. I have a new ecu and since Ive found a cheap omp Im thinking about just replacing it instead of chipping the ecu and blocking it off.
Thanks RT

It's not a hard replacement but you really want to replace the lines too. You can make new ones out of teflon hose and crimps using the old fittings. Look it up. You'll have to take the intake manifolds off. Not a hard job.

I've got an OMP I bought brand new 5 years ago. I've had it on my car for 16K miles. I'll sell it to you for a little over half what a new one costs, PM me if you're interested.
I went that route and about 2 months later the new (used) OMP went as well and took out my 2nd ECU. At that point I said screw it and went with the RTEK chip. I think if you replace the S5 OMP it should be fairly new; can't say I'm a fan of using a used OMP though.
