Run Premix in your gas until you can verify that the OMP is actually working.

how do i verify if its working? i used the 2nd gen archive write up on replacing the omp lines so they are clear and i dont see even 1 drop of oil going through them. im not sure when the pump kicks on if its temperature or if it just comes on at a certain rpm or what

Someone will have to correct me here if I'm wrong, but they may not look like they have oil in them at all. I replaced all my OMP lines last summer and drove the car with no issues for a couple of months before parking it for the winter. I had the UIM and LIM off over the winter and the lines looked exactly the same as when I put them on. When I took the old lines off last summer and 2 of the new ones off this winter, no oil came out of them nor did it look like there had been any oil in them. The old ones were just brittle and brown from age. Last summer oil usage was normal and there were no problems with oil pressure etc. So maybe that's just the way they work? I should add that I have an S4, so my OMP is mechanical, where yours is electrical.

also if your vac lines to the injectors, or vac spider is leaking or disconnected i think it can mess with the uptake of oil through the lines.

i too followed the write up in the archive, but i also rebuilt my omp with new orings (my motor is an s4) and i can definitely see the oil in the lines, even when the oil is fresh after a change.

alll the vacum lines seemed fine when i replaced the omp lines, i started it up and i just got nothing! so frustrating!!!!!i know i have oil, the lines are hooked up correctly and the injectors should be working. they say the pump is electrical but isnt there a geer inside the front cover that spins off the eccentric shaft? whats exactly is electrical on the omp?

wait so you've just idle the motor, you haven't actually driven it? i remember reading around here that it can take a while for the oil to get pulled up to the injectors. and if you car is still an 88 like in your profile then you should have a mechanical omp i think.

Also, when I took the lines off the OMP, oil did drain out a little, just not out of the lines themselves. I'm not sure if the oil drains out of lines when the car is shut off for a while or not. But like 3vil said, if you just let your car idle, you probably didn't build up enough vac to pull oil all the way to your injectors.

The OMP is..................a PUMP. It does NOT use vacuum to pull the oil into the lines. PUMP. PUMP makes pressure.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the MOP only inject oil under load in an S5? Hence, letting it idle in your driveway will never cause oil to be injected.

well my car was idleing at like 2500 would that be a strong enough load? should i try and get oil in the lines manually? maybe that will help?
