Pretty self explanatory. Will this effectively block off the OMP? Ignore for now how amazingly dirty it is.

meh, you've got an s4? ditch that thing if you're going to block it off. Its the s5 guys that have right to bitch

edit:

They've worked fine since march. Make sure you use some gasket maker on them. I put a tab of copper ultra two.

Yeah, It'll work but It's a tremendous overkill. Why wouldn't you go with a K2RD Blockoff Plate? I have a brand new one that I'm willing to send you for $10 shipped.

Should you remove the ring gear (and It's shaft) found on the Inside of the Front Cover, be sure to tap and plug the MOP feed hole on the Front Iron...eitherwise, you'll lose Oil pressure.

Honestly, I just bolted it back up to the cover to get it out of the way, and forgot about it until now when I put the water pump back on. I wasn't ever sure.

Tony, check your PMs.

OMP = Oil Metering Pump (Or, correctly, MOP, Metering Oil Pump)

So, with my S5, this will not cause a limp mode condition?

Also, what size bolts are those?

They're either 10mm or 12mm. I think 10.

I don't know if this would work for the S5 MOP. Give it a try

Some people pre-mix their cars because it lubricates the seals better than the OMP. Once you start pre-mixing, you don't need the OMP anymore, so they remove it.

I assume that you have the stepping motor and position sensor still attached to the wiring harness and tied up somewhere? I know that the ECU needs to see a signal from both the OMP position sensor and the OMP stepping motor or else it will throw a code. Please let me know how you got around that.

About half a day :-p

I imagine it sees it as being the same as if the injectors themselves were clogged; where there is also no warning.

I took my oil injectors out, and filled them completely with RTV black, then put them back in.

NOTE: The oil injectors are 10MM I belive. (You need a 19MM wrench to get at them, if my memory serves me)

IT WON'T WORK!! I did that for a few months and though it seems like it's working, it's still building up pressure behind those bolts and eventually it will leek through, at least mine did. I used high temp silicone and tightened them down as much as i could and the bolts still leaked!
