OMP Blockoff Questions

I'm planning on eliminating my OMP real soon. Its not working and yes i'm premixing already. I have a few questions. Do I need to drain the oil from the oil pan prior to removing the OMP? I've heard of ppl putting coins inside where the OMP used to be. What's that all about and is it necessary? Ive searched this topic and ive gotten some valuable info...Sometimes it's hard to find answers to specific questions. Thanx in advance

I am not so sure about the coins, but you won't have to drain the oil in the oil pan.

Of course you might as well wait to blockoff the OMP until you need an oil change and then do it all at once!

I just changed my oil last week...I wasnt planning on removing my omp until one of the LIM oil feed lines broke on me......broke off right near the injector inlet

U need to do some more research first, is your car a series 5 or series 4? If it's a series 4 then why isnt it working? They are mechanical and rarely ever fail. If it's a series 5 then you can't remove it or the car will go into limp mode and you won't be going anywhere above 20% throttle. You can still block it off but you must leave the connectors attached. If the car is N/A then you can get a Rtek on your ECU and can completely remove it then, but if it is turbo then you're out of luck...

My name pretty much says what kind of car i have. Its an N/A s4....I'm not concerned about fixing it....Taking it out, blocking it off and premixing seems like it'll be easier and cheaper than rebuilding the OMP and replacing the lines

You can just pull off the metering oil pump and install your blockoff plate. No reason to drain the oil.

Buy an assortment of vacuum caps from the auto parts store and use one that fits. Assortments are available for a few dollars and they are good to have on hand.

What size are the oil injector nozzles? My wrenches are too thick to get in there. Any advise on taking them off?
Imo I say removing the OMP makes the engine look a little cleaner and simpler and premixing is just as simple as adding injector cleaner every fuel up. I see it as no real hassle.

I used a 14mm open end wrench on both primary and secondary nozzles. Try to find a thin 14mm wrench. I actually had to hammer my wrench on to the primary nozzles bc it wouldn't go on all the way.....it needed a little help

When I did it, I used a pair of needle nose vice grip pliers and they worked great. I did kinda mar/partially crush one of my injectors though. But that one was damaged anyway, so it didn't matter. But putting the bolts in to plug the primaries was kind of a pain because the head size on the bolts were just slightly too big..

Injector cleaner? I don't think that lubricates quite like 2 stroke...

I think he meant that adding pre-mix is as simple as adding injector cleaner.
