You relocate it and leave it attached to the harness

The stock ecu is not concerned with your "wants".

Come on- no one has come up with a device to "fool" the ecu into thinking the OMP is still there? RTEC makes a chip or something...

i know ive seen it done before but iam not sure if any of those were stock ecus i just talked to ben and he said some company made a thing you could connect the OMP clip to it instead of the OMP itself but other than that stand alone i guess..

Why not take a multimeter to the pins on the OMP and work out what the ECU wants to see?

IF the car is NA, Get an RTek. It'll disable the ECU's limp mode.

If S5 TII... Good luck!

check resistance in the motor. buy a resistor jump the connector with the resistor, the resistor may get hot so maybe you can build something to isolate it, you also dont want it touching a ground. make the computer think the motor is stilll there sense im pretty sure it has nothing monitory flow i believe the resistor will work. Make sure you premix..

It's a stepper motor, so it's maybe not that simple.

Why not take a multimeter to the pins on the OMP and work out what the ECU wants to see?
I looked in the FSM to see what the ECU wanted to see. I posted this in another thread located here. I don't know if it will work but I can't see why it wouldn't.

Then possibly figure out what the voltage is at pin 2A (omp position sensor) at idle or 1/4 throttle and use a voltage divider or adjustable pot to get the voltage at pin 2A where it should be at the specific throttle point ?

this way the ECU always thinks the omp is in the right position at a fixed throttle point. The full range TPS is only used for the OMP.

Just a guess. I wish I had a S5 to play with cause I have been wanting to try this forever.

...at idle at Pin 2A it should be about 1v. At idle the Pin 2G ( full range TPS ) should read .80v . So with those numbers, maybe add an adjustable pot to those pins and dial in those volts and disconnect the OMP and full range TPS. Then see if the ECU goes into limp mode.
