ok....has anyone experienced this with the oil press. gauge?

All, right so just recently.....today actually, I found the plug for the oil pressure swicth and connected it. That was in the morning and it worked fine and everything. But, as I was driving it around today, I looked at the gauge and it read zero?, i got down and disconected the plug, cleaned it again, and plugged it back on. So, I was watching the gauge and while the car is idling it reads right below 30, but as I continue driving it starts going down, until it eventually reaches zero.....but the car runs fine?? no smoke, no leak, nothing?........is this is a messed up 45 dollar swicth, or could it maybe be the cluster?
