Oil temp & pressure senders location?

I bought three of those gauges (oil pressure, water temp and oil temp) with the senders. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_grou.asp?Series=Cyber_Red

The senders are 1/8 NPT, and from my searches on the forum, they would fit without any adapter (it's not an issue for the water temp since I'll have to tap it in the water pump).

What I read on the forum is that I must use a pedestal and install the the oil temp and pressure senders near the oil filter, but I have no clue of where it exactly is.
I will screw the oil pressure sender in the place of the stock sending unit since it failed; but I'm lost for the oil temp. And will I need any kind of adapter since the senders are 1/8 NPT?

Thanks again guys; I'd be lost without your advices .

The pedestal replaces the stock oil filter pedestal.

go to www.racingbeat.com and look for the Oil Filter Pedestal Block Adapter and just mount it on inplace of the Oil Filter Pedestal and then mount it on top of the Block adapter... it has two holes in it for both Presure and Temp... easy install and costs just 50 bucks.
MazdaTrix has nicer looking ones for a bit more...

im lost on the water temp gauge though...

Water temp gauge goes right next to the stock oil pressure gauge.

Ok I understant better now. So I install it between the oil filter and the place where the filter sits?

But I've got a problem, I removed the stock sending unit and installed instead a sender connected to a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge (I want to change it cause I don't like the idea of having oil in the cabin for one thing). If I remove that sender, there will be NOTHING in the hole, could I just screw a bolt in there?

Yeah but the hole is so small that most of the time, you cannot fit any aftermarket sender in there. This why most of the people on the forum tapped it in the water pump.

Do you have a s4 or s5? The s5 is the correct size for a greddy gauge.

I have an S4, and I'm gonna install Cyberdyne gauges as stated above.

That's an idea, but they would be a pain to pass through the fire wall. I'd prefer get rid of the gauge I have now. Do you think a simple bolt in that hole would do the job?

The problem with RB is that it is 1/8 and 3/8 oultets and I need to 1/8s. I think I'll go with speedmachine.

So now I only have to figure a way to plug the stock oil pressure sender unit hole :P.

Thanks for your help.

I've a old RB square block aluminum one. I looked at it and said "now how hard would it be to just get a piece of aluuminum and drill holes in it?". Answer: not difficult at all and the threads are the size I want and located where I want.
