Oil temp & pressure senders location?
I bought three of those gauges (oil pressure, water temp and oil temp) with the senders. http://www.egauges.com/vdo_grou.asp?Series=Cyber_Red
The senders are 1/8 NPT, and from my searches on the forum, they would fit without any adapter (it's not an issue for the water temp since I'll have to tap it in the water pump). What I read on the forum is that I must use a pedestal and install the the oil temp and pressure senders near the oil filter, but I have no clue of where it exactly is. I will screw the oil pressure sender in the place of the stock sending unit since it failed; but I'm lost for the oil temp. And will I need any kind of adapter since the senders are 1/8 NPT? Thanks again guys; I'd be lost without your advices :D. |

go to www.racingbeat.com and look for the Oil Filter Pedestal Block Adapter and just mount it on inplace of the Oil Filter Pedestal and then mount it on top of the Block adapter... it has two holes in it for both Presure and Temp... easy install and costs just 50 bucks.
MazdaTrix has nicer looking ones for a bit more... im lost on the water temp gauge though... |
Personally I think the Racing Beat and Mazdatrix ones are fugly...

Water temp gauge goes right next to the stock oil pressure gauge.

Ok I understant better now. So I install it between the oil filter and the place where the filter sits?
But I've got a problem, I removed the stock sending unit and installed instead a sender connected to a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge (I want to change it cause I don't like the idea of having oil in the cabin for one thing). If I remove that sender, there will be NOTHING in the hole, could I just screw a bolt in there? |

Do you have a s4 or s5? The s5 is the correct size for a greddy gauge.

you can get copper lines for the mechanical Gauge
i thought the Mazdatrix was cool, but too expensive... i went the cheapo route :) and got the functional RB Block |

So now I only have to figure a way to plug the stock oil pressure sender unit hole :P. Thanks for your help. |
