Oil System Question...

Alright. Im tryin to repair the oil system, not use premix, and have a question. The fittings on either end of the hoses that go from the OMP to the Injectors have the little clamp on them that hold the hoses on. Well they seem to be crimped on there and I can't remove them unless I cut them off. If I cut them off, what is a good way to replace them, or what can I use to replace them. Here is a pic of what I'm talking about if you dont know.

the little butterfly thing on the top end of the four oil injector rings. That is the piece that I'm haveing to replace. Anyone got any ideas?

Also, where is a good place to get the oil hoses to replace the ones that melted in my fire? I just tried AutoZone and they didnt have anything like I was looking for, they suggested a Hobby Shop......any ideas there either? Thanks guys!

They come with the fittings already installed, I doubt that you'll be able to find any aftermarket.

Mazdatrix usually has the best price on them:

Why would you want to replace your Metering Oil Lines anyway but stock? Just replace them In whole.

HI there. Ghetto Hailers here. I replaced the lines on my n/a within the last year. I ridded myself of those clamping things. Just cut 'em off. Then I went to a local hardware store, Sutherlands, and bought, I think, 3/32"(could have been 5/32", short memory here) fuel line. It was clear line. Then I got the hair dryer out and heated the end of the new line, and twisted and shoved it on the nippple. To finish it off, I got some strands of heavy gauge electrical wire, maybe .020 thick, and twisted it around the hose and nipple. Like a pigtail. Works just fine. No leaks. Cost? About five bucks for the fuel line. I'll post a picture of the fuel line when I get a chance. Don't need no stinkin high priced dowadiddy.

so I should just go to the dealership and buy the whole injector fittings and oil lines there? do they all come in a set together, like all 4 lines and all 8 fittings? any idea how much that's gonna cost me?

I just purchased all my lines from mazdatrix. They run about $20 a piece and of course you need four. However it is nice to have new!

$20 a piece!!!! dayum man......thats another 80 bucks down the drain. For reference reasons, what are these lines called? What is the proper name for them? So I can look them up online and know what to ask for when I call the dealership. Thanks.

As promised: This is fuel line. Three sixteenths outside diameter by three thirty seconds inside diameter. Seventy cents a foot. WORKS. Use some strands of electrical wire and twist it around the nipple. Will not leak. Functions. Jpg attached. Tie wrap every few feet for security.

weeeeeelllllll.........

i dont know. i REALLY dont want to spend another 80 bucks. How sure are you that your ghetto rig there on the oil injector lines works? Will the heat of the engine not bother the fuel line that you have used there? wont the wire cut through the fuel line? Should I just spend the extra money on premix? Where do you get premix? How much is it? blah blah blah......

Either buy the proper line or run premix. I've thought about making my own line too. However I would have probably had a hydraulic shop rig something up. Anyways, how long do you plan to have the car. Will you sell it within a year or two. The reason I ask is try explaining to a buyer that you need to dump 2-cycle oil in every fill up, and that if they don't the engine will stop functioning. That was the determining factor for me.

I think HAILERS has a fine idea. Just make sure the line you use is up to the temps it will see. If it were me I would have to come up with a better clamp though. You should be able to find another crimp clamp somewhere that would work. I would be worried about too small a wire cutting into the hose.

so, where did you get that fuel line? Ive been to all the auto stores around here and no one sells that stuff. They sell this mulitpurpose crap tube stuff which I doubt will stand the temperatures. Plus they didnt have the right size. So, someone help, where can I get this stuff? One of the guys mentioned going to the hobbyshop and buying their fuel line, BUT, I'm not sure if that stuff will hold the temp. I guess I could go cuz i piece of it off my R/C car and torch it to see how it holds up.......hmm. Ill be right back. Got any idea what kind of temperatures I will see around those parts? Maybe I'll go stick a piece of that fuel line in the oven at that temp and see what happens.

Upto 180F on a normal operating engine. One thing you may want to do is wrap it w/ silicon? The stuff I wrapped my wiring harness with is heat resistant to 500F
