with bad oil seals the car should still idle ussually...

what colour is the smoke?? is it for sure oil burning?? if so...

id get the car compression checked as well just to see whats wrong.... does the car have normal power?? or does it barly start and barly run???

but to replace the oil seals(called oil control rings) , or apex seals(the most common failure point of the engine) is to pretty much rebuild the engine...

it would be similar amount of time/efford to replacing the piston rings..... pretty much a full rebuild....

if you have never worked on a rotary engine before, rebuilding it your self would be pretty difficult, but if your mechanically inclinded they have rebuild how to videos and stuff like that.
