Totally different. The oil seals are located on the side of the rotor. They are big o-rings in metal carriers.

Engine disassembly needed to replace them, which generally involves apex seal replacement as well.

recomonded replacement parts include all orings for obvoius reasons apex seals and springs. arfer that, its a matter of where your parts are in relation to spec. I generally replace side seal springs as they are cheap and a bitch to get out if a bunch of carbon is present.

Mods, what are you looking for the car to do and ho much do you want to spend. A good port job is worthless unless you up the exhaust and intake. Oil improvement is for high rpm engines, etc.

what year? the stock (s5) ecu and afm can only handle so much from mazdaspeed7's experience. judge ito did a full bridge on a stock ecu s4, though.
