Oil Seal Blues...
Well my car has been off the road since just before winter, I was gonna probably pull it anyways so I havn't had a problem with it, due to the amount of oil being dumped into the engine causing blue smoke and lack of idle. Now that I have access to a shop and I can pull my engine and have the tools needed to rebuild my engine I need to know what parts I'm going to need from a rebuild kit.
Rotaryaviation.com has a basic overhaul kit for $509usd BUT I don't know if I need the Rotor Oil Seal Set that is only available in the master overhaul kit, or even if I could just cheat via a simple o-ring kit since I know all my seals are probably still good. I'm thinking since my car was spouting so much blue smoke before I took it off the road that it has to be some sort of oil seal, but I don't know if it's rotor oil seals or front or rear main oil seals.
Can anyone shed any light on how I could figure this out before I pull my engine apart, or even if blowing Rotor Oil Seals is fairly uncommon.
Thanks in Advance.
