Oil pump gear and that @#R@#$ key
I am having a PITA time getting that gear to slide over teh key.
Everytime I slide the gear down the key pops out.
I tried holding it with vasiline and that didnt work.
I have tried superglue...and well right now the gear is stuck on the shaft and I am gonna have to pull it off.....rough day
Just wondering if you guys had any tips.

take a small flat tipped screwdriver and peen in the shaft a tiny bit where the valley that the key sits in goes, use some needle nose pliers to or a vice with some rags to press the key in place. use a torch to remove the gear from the shaft, it will cook off the super glue, lol...
good luck.
good luck.
Go to a model airplane/hobby shop and get some real superglue and a small bottle of accelerator. The accelerator causes the superglue to set instantly.
This is what I used on my RX7 when I took the front cover off and didn't experience the problems you did.

Ended up using teh super glue and found out what kept screwing me up....
The super glue had built up a little on the pump shaft...not allowing the gear to slide over....sanded that off and slipped right on!
