oil pressure woes!! still not fixed...

been over a year, now I just want it fixed.

Can I run a wire directly from the oil pressure sensor to the gauge in the dash? Which wire is it in the back of the dash?

Reason being, is that there are a couple frayed wires in the engine bay that never found a home. One of them will spike the gauge when grounded, the other... i dunno. But nothing happens when you hook that one up to the pressure sensor.

I'd really like to just run a new wire directly to the gauge... woudl it work?

The one that spikes the gauge is the one you want. More then likely you need a new pressure sensor and thats why hooking it up still yields nothing on the gauge.

I'd say get a new Pressure Sensor and see if that works, and use the wire that spikes the gauge when grounded.

maybe.. I've got like a shitload of loose (but capped) wires on that side of the engine bay after the 5spd swap-in. I dont even know if I'd be able to find that one anymore...

Oil pressure sensor wire goes direct to gauge.
There is a damping capacitor wired in parallel to ground though.

is the capacitator needed? And which wire is it in the gauge cluster harness? I'd like to run a new wire to be 100% sure its the sensor...

No, cap is really not needed.
