Oil Pressure thread conversion

Hey Folks, I purchased an Auto meter oil pressure meter. The problem I have is the the old pressure sensor is 10mm and the threads on the new sensor is 1/8. How do you get the conversion to work or where to buy the parts for this conversion? I have tried Auto stores, hardware and other places to find a conversion for this and found none. Any ideas?

On one installation I took the old pressure sensor and cut off the part that screws into the housing. I cut that part off where it meets the mushroom of the sensor. Then I drilled and tapped the right size threads in the part I had cut off and screwed the new sensor into that. Make sense???

There's also the adapter that can be installed under the oil filter pedestal. That is what they are talking about in the post above. MAZDATRIX sells them.

I've also copycated the original adapter that they used to sell on Maxdatrix. I just bought a block of aluminium and drilled holes in it to match the pedestal and then cross drilled holes from the side to meet the oil holes. Tapped those holes to fit the oil pressure sender. This was cheaper than the original Mazdatrix oil pedestal adapter by far.

Bottom of this page http://www.mazdatrix.com/boil2.htm

That's a bit too much money for what you get imho. I think the block of aluminium I bought was less than ten bucks and I made three adapters and had leftover material.

This didn't directly answer your question. The cutoff old pressure sensor was close though. That and a drill and tap of the right size. To be used in the original pressure sensor hole.

Here's my write up on how to install an Autometer oil pressure gauge. The crux of it is that you need to get a peice from a hydrolics store.

Read this also https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=pressure

On the pegasus site, I think what you MIGHT need is 3230-2-2NPT
1/8 BSP Male - 1/8 NPT Male Adapter

Then the NPT stuff can be bought at the local HomeDepot or the autostore which has BRASSTITE fittings of all sizes.....well a lot of sizes.

Or maybe this fitting Female 1/8 NPT to Male 1/8 BSP Fitting
on the same Pegasus site

The stock oil pressure sensor is NOT 10mm.
It's 1/8"BSP - 28.

Get an appropriate adapter.
